About Christina E. Higgins, PhD

Dr. Higgins is a former Director of the Sickle Cell Disease Regulatory Science Consortium at the Critical Path Institute, a Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law, and a Document Development Committee member of the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute. She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Cornell University and has more than 10 years’ experience in product development and clinical and analytical validation, bringing in vitro diagnostic assays to market as Laboratory Developed Tests, FDA-approved products, and CE-marked assays and supporting implementation of these assays in CLIA-certified reference laboratories. As a Senior Advisor at BioChip Labs, she provides input on funding applications, assay development, validation, and implementation, and preparation of regulatory documentation.

Tina balances a busy work schedule with competitive figure skating, tennis, and biking.
